Let me start out this blog on Laboratory choices with a little history on myself. I have been in the medical Field for over 20 years. I have always wanted to help people ever since I was a little girl. I was given my first stethoscope when I was 10 years old by my grandpa.
After completing school, I decided I wanted to use my skills in different ways then regular floor nursing. I started out as a teacher at Bryman College for Medical Assistants and Phlebotomy.
I then moved onto a little laboratory in Los Gatos California named Path Lab. This is where I fell in love with the Lab business. I quickly moved into marketing becoming a Territory Manager /Sales Representative. I created a Long Term Care program for the elderly in insuring they are receiving their laboratory results for the doctors to give the best care and I just loved talking to the patients. They were always telling me stories of their past which many I still carry close to my heart.
I then worked with the local physicians in the area explaining to them why they should use a local laboratory where the integrity of the specimen would not be compromised by travel out of town on a daily basis and the results would be back the next day to help in the quality of the patients care.
The difference in my lab and the big labs at that time Smithkline Beachem and Unilab was that I reported directly to the owners. The ones who started this business in their own community to give the option of great laboratory service from the tests all the way to customer service from every employee.
Any issues were always taken care of quickly and in the time of answering machines and computers on the rise we kept that close feel of actual human to human contact by answering our phones with a live person.
WHY THIS BLOG?
I have created this blog to inform the patients and doctors out there that even though Path Lab not longer is there, there is a Lab that is just like it.
The name is HUNTER LABORATORIES.
I had the options to go the the Quest, Lab Corps, and Stanford's (outpatient Labs NOW- Sold to Lab Corp) when I came back to the industry, however that same standards apply now as they did 1993.
I have worked for Hunter Laboratories for three years now. I have recently moved my territory from the bay area to Roseville CA to be closer to family, however I still see clients in bay area.
I have opened a new draw site location in Roseville at 114 N. Sunrise Blvd. right next door to Orchard Suites with nearest major Cross street being Douglas Blvd.
I hired a phlebotomist with over 9 years experience that only needs one stick to complete the draw. I don't believe in long lines for patients and we even have a kid play area for the busy moms.
My actual office is also located at this location and anyone is welcome to come and talk to me when needed. If I am not there at the time you can also email me at ppettit@hunterlabs.com.
We take all PPO insurances, United Health Care and Medicare and Medical.
We also work with anyone who does not have insurance.
Do yourselves a favor and stop supporting the BIG Laboratories that don't see you as a human. Go to the one that really does care.
Thanks for listening and please return for updates on special new tests we are offering.
Feel free to send any questions you may have on any laboratory issues you are having. Send questions on any lab. I have been in this business so long I am sure to be able to help expedite your problem to a happy resolution.
Take care
